Why am I doing this blog?

By svcmgr

I thought I would start this out by explaining a little about why I am doing all of this.

As you can see from the menu (blog links) on the right, I have been lucky to become friends with some fellow Poker players who also blog a little.

We are all members of an on-line league called Poker Chip Squad. Clicking on the link will take you there if you are interested in learning more about the League. We started out a couple of years ago as a Free Roll league. We originally only played in free rolls and buy-in games were not League sponsored.

After a period of time, it was decided that we change the League to a buy-in league. We were all getting tired of the Donkeys and crappy play during the free rolls. So, as it is now, we are a League that plays small buy-ins on a fairly regular basis.

Most of the players in the League are experienced players so the games can be challenging and fun.Just about everyone in the league is willing to help each other in an effort to improve their Poker skills so it is a really nice environment to hang around in to play, learn, and laugh.

If you are familiar with Poker, you will understand the comments about how the game takes a short time to learn but a lifetime to master. I am currently at a point in my Poker playing life where I have learned a great deal about the game but without peer evaluation and comments on my play, I won’t learn as much about the game and myself as I would like.

As with most Poker players, my lifetime goal would be to play at the final table in the WSOP. Winning would be the next goal after getting there but, just getting there would be fantastic.

I have met some very generous, smart, friendly, people while playing poker. Blagger, Pinkdog, Gopher, Netsson, Poker Cards, Lippy, who help me along the way.

I will use this blog to talk about my experiences and hopefully ellicit comments, advice, coaching, and help with my poker game.

So…here we go…stay tuned

Nice to see ya blogging mate. I hope you enjopy it as much as I am. And trust me, just blogging about your experiences will improve your game. It gives you a chance to think about past situations and to evaluate them in your own mind.

As you said though, having the crtics flying around is aslo a great help. Having your game analysed by your peers can only be a good thing.

We’ll all get together soon for some analysis, but in the meantime, Good Luck with the blog mate. I’m looking forward to reading it!

Woot! And the blog goes on… Nice one Dave look forward to dropping by and reading your blog.

If we get just a few more ‘bloggers’ from the league, we should be able to get something new to read each day..Great stuff. :)

Well I havent posted in your blog yet my friend but please don’t take offense. What your doing here is great and I can say the same for Gofer, and Nettie Poo.
In truth I wake up at 4 am…I get home at 5:30 pm from work….I go to bed at 8 pm so please understand everyone why I may not post a reply in your blogs.
By the time I get home my eyes are shot. Reading all of the posts and replys eventually run into one another because my brain starts to muddle everything and it goes basically…”numb”
I drive a school bus where my complete focus ( for the safety of such precious cargo’s) is entirely on traffic. This I do while the children of all ages are usually trying to make a party van out of the bus and I have to try to keep control of them.
A lot of people joke at me about the lowly life piece of cake job that must be. I laugh along so that I don’t strangle them or go completely postal.
Anyway…eventually I will get a post in at all of you guys sites.
